The brief
The Food and Drink Federation is the voice of the UK's food and drink manufacturing industry, the country's largest manufacturing sector, with more than 1,000 members from global brands to innovative start-ups.
As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, it asked for an hour-long lunchtime walk near its office, a stone's throw from Soho. The aim was simple: get people away from their desks, take some exercise, learn about the area they work in and, most of all, relax.
The walk
Our first attempt was washed out. The heavens opened shortly after we set off, and the group sheltered in a nearby church until it was clear the rain wasn't stopping. We walked everyone back to the office and rearranged.
On the new date, 15 colleagues set off around Soho, with a second guide alongside to look after the group and make sure everyone was included.
The result
The organiser reviewed the walk on Tripadvisor a few days later, praising the guides as "friendly and interesting walking companions" and recommending the team to "anyone looking for a tailored walking tour".
Photos from the walk
“Andrew is an excellent guide. So informative, knowledgeable and interesting. His colleague Malcom accompanied us and both made friendly and interesting walking companions, who looked after the group and ensured everyone was included.”
