Roman roots and medieval alleys for Mental Health Awareness Week

The brief
TheCityUK is the industry-led body representing UK-based financial and related professional services, an industry that contributes around 12% of the UK's economic output. Its team is based in the heart of the City.
To mark Mental Health Awareness Week, TheCityUK asked for a lunchtime walk of about an hour and a half in the streets right next to its office.
The walk
Fourteen colleagues joined us as we explored the City's Roman past and medieval heritage, ducking into hidden alleyways and courtyards that even seasoned City workers rarely notice.
Just as important as the history was the chance to take some exercise, chat to colleagues and take time away from the pressures of work.
The result
TheCityUK shared the walk on LinkedIn, describing it as "a great way to get moving, learn more about the city in which we work and reflect on the importance of prioritising mental health."
Photos from the walk
“We managed to avoid the rain, get our steps up while taking in some of the City's iconic landmarks, and learn some great tips and facts about the history of the City.”
